Workplace Basic Education aims to encourage workers and trainees to return to learning. The main programme we offer at he moment is Skills4Work, a national programme aimed at providing educational opportunities to help employees deal with basic skills demands in the workplace. To participate, employees must:
Be in full or part-time employment
Have few or outdated educational qualifications
Be over 18
Courses may include a variety of subjects which support the needs of the employee. All course include literacy and numeracy elements integrated into subjects ranging from Communicatiosn, maths, computing, and personal development. Courses can also be tailored to suit more specific workplace needs (retail skills, food and nutrition, healthcare, online farm management, SPSV for taxi drivers, etc.)
Courses are usually 35 hours long and taken over a 12 week period.
